How to Schedule LinkedIn Posts with posterly
Connecting LinkedIn
Connect your LinkedIn profile through the Accounts page. posterly uses LinkedIn's official OAuth 2.0 flow. You'll be redirected to LinkedIn to grant posting permissions, then returned to posterly. The connection allows posterly to publish posts on your behalf to your personal profile.
Scheduling personal profile posts
LinkedIn posts can be up to 3,000 characters — plenty of room for the long-form, story-driven content that performs well on the platform. Open the Composer, select your LinkedIn account, and write your post. posterly's AI is tuned for LinkedIn's professional tone: it generates thought-leadership-style content, personal stories with business lessons, and engagement-driving hooks.
Images and documents
Attach images (JPEG, PNG) to your LinkedIn posts, upload multiple images to publish a swipeable image carousel, or upload a single PDF to publish a native LinkedIn document post. PDF document posts are LinkedIn-only in the Composer and currently support one PDF up to 50MB per post.
Writing for LinkedIn's algorithm
LinkedIn rewards posts that keep people on the platform. posterly's AI generates content optimised for LinkedIn's engagement patterns: strong opening hooks (the first 2 lines are critical since they appear above the "see more" fold), clear formatting with line breaks, and calls to action that encourage comments over link clicks. The AI avoids external links in the post body, since LinkedIn's algorithm deprioritises posts with outbound links.
